Speak words of Faith in the God!

Every morning, as part of my Bible and prayer time, I read several daily devotions, including Regina Clarinda’s “Daily Hope – 365 Devotions for Strength and Peace. According to her biography, “Regina Clarinda is a trained counselor and Christian devotional writer with a deep desire to support and encourage others through gentle words. She writes for people who are hurting, hoping each page brings comfort and understanding. Through her work, she wants others to feel less alone and more aware of God’s care. Her writing is meant to be a safe place for anyone seeking peace, encouragement, and the reassurance of God’s presence.” Here is Regina’s selection for February 12.

“Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, ‘We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.’” — Numbers 13:30 (NIV)

In Numbers 13, Moses sent twelve spies to scout out the Promised Land. Ten of them came back with negative words: “Yes, the land is good, but the people there are strong, and we cannot possibly defeat them.” But two men—Joshua and Caleb—spoke differently. Caleb declared, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it!”

Notice this: Caleb did not merely think positively; he spoke his faith. His words were completely different from the ten others. While they magnified the problem, Caleb magnified the power of God with his words.

If you want your circumstances to change, don’t use your words only to describe how difficult things are.

Use your words to change your circumstances. Say:

“I can handle this because the Lord is with me.”

“I will surely see a way out.”

“I will be healed.”

“My future is full of hope.”

Faith-filled words are like seeds you sow. Sooner or later, those seeds will grow into reality.

Don’t just describe your problems—start prophesying your future. Just as Caleb entered the Promised Land because his words of faith aligned with God’s promises, you too will see His promises fulfilled in your life if you keep sowing faith with your words.

Begin each morning with words of faith, and watch how God transforms your situation.

This is a powerful insight from Regina Clarinda. Are you magnifying the problem? Or, like Caleb, are you magnifying the power of God with your words? When we magnify our problems, they appear to get bigger and bigger in our mind and seem overwhelming and unbeatable. Instead, let’s speak words of faith and trust and reliance on the Lord. Because no matter how big the problems might appear, the Lord is Bigger! He is Large and in Charge!

As part of my prayer time, I declare every morning to the Lord, “You reign Supreme. You are Lord over heaven and earth. There is Nothing too hard for You! There is No one above You! There is Nothing You cannot do!” Amen!

This Sunday, February 15, we will celebrate God’s faithfulness to Honolulu Assembly of God by considering “The State of the Church” (Mark 12:28-31; Matthew 28:18-20). Please invite someone to join you in the building or online for the Live broadcast on either Facebook (Honolulu AG) or our YouTube channel (Honolulu Assembly of God). We Livestream every Sunday to both locations and would love to have you join us!

Everyone in the building is invited to stay after the worship service for an “ono-licious” Lunch in the Fellowship Hall. (No need to bring anything for the meal; everything will be provided.) After the lunch, all members are invited and encouraged to stay for the Annual Meeting of the congregation as we rejoice in the Lord’s faithfulness in 2025.

Aloha ke Akua!
