Are you ready for Synergy?

Synergy

Remember the children's song, "When we all pull together, how happy we’ll be"? There is power in Unity.

The story is told of a horse pull in Canada. One horse pulled 9,000 pounds; another pulled 8,000. Together you would expect them to pull 17,000 pounds.

Not so! When teamed together, they pulled 30,000 pounds!

The principle is called synergism. Definition: The simultaneous action of separate agents working together has a greater total effect than the sum of their individual efforts.

More can be done in a team effort than can be accomplished solo. In order for the principle of synergism to work as it should, there has to be teamwork.

Everything we do takes teamwork and trust. Every person in the local church is valuable and needed. The church is a team and together we can build for the Lord.

Scripture teaches the value and necessity of unity. "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:3). "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken" (Ecclesiastes 4:12). "Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose" (Philippians 2:1-2).

It is absolutely essential that the Body of Christ work together. There are no Lone Rangers in the Kingdom of God. It is not just about what we can do individually but also about what we can accomplish together.

Consider the word TEAM: Together Everyone Accomplishes More. We can do more together than we could ever do individually. We are all in this together.

For example, read through the Book of Acts and one thing becomes very clear: Paul surrounded himself with partners in ministry. Many names are listed. Paul did not try to go alone. He knew the value of others.

Whether you can join together for worship or must stay at home this Sunday, you are valuable and needed.

Let's all be ministers and ambassadors of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5). Let's all be declarers of the Good News (Romans 10:13-15).

Let's all make a difference for the Kingdom of God.

See you soon. Thanks for being a TEAM mate.

Mahalo and Aloha ke Akua!
